Tonight’s Theme
Many desk professionals don’t feel injured, they just feel “old”. A stiff lower back in the morning. A tight neck that keeps returning. Knees or hips that feel rusty.
Everyone from doctors to the general population, from 20-somethings to 80s+, associate these feelings with aging - like there’s an inevitable downward slope to pain and inability once you’re no longer a teenage healing machine.
Fortunately, this cultural paradigm of “You get worse until you die” is simply not true.
People are largely unaware of the tremendous developments in human longevity and resilience over the past 30 years. In many cases, simple changes can lead to the restoration of meaning and transformed lives.
The good news is that long term trajectory can shift. It is possible to feel actually better as you age. When you understand how deskwork is (literally) shaping your body - and what to do about it - improvement becomes possible again.

“Extreme” desk workers including dental staff and other ‘bent shape’ workers.
HR Reps, Business Development Associates and other leaders looking for a better way to think about staff health & wellness

About Rouleau
Rouleau is a new movement education studio in Edmonton, focused on helping people build durable, capable bodies that improve over time. Alberta has an $8b/year chronic pain problem, and we’re here building the new workforce that can fix it.
Over the years, our teachers have helped clients prevent unnecessary orthopedic surgeries, eliminate chronic pain, and improve whatever you love doing - from gardening to hiking to golf to snowboarding (the full list is endless).
Our work is about ensuring that Albertans can build bodies that last and maintain their “work hard, play hard” reputation amidst a changing techno-world landscape.
