The Edmonton Regional Innovation Network (ERIN) is a coalition of community support organisations (“Members”) based in the Edmonton Metropolitan Region (and Athabasca). Community support organisations are defined as organisations who work to improve the startup and innovation ecosystem in Edmonton as part of their core activities. 

Membership is open to municipalities and organisations that support the Edmonton innovation ecosystem, defined as service providers, post-secondary institutions, investors, and small businesses. Attendance at minimum number of meetings is required to stay in good standing, as well as signing the Membership Agreement. Municipalities and organisations must designate one representative to ERIN. Each organisation has one vote and that vote is designated to the assigned representative.

We recognise that many organisations do work to support the startup and innovation ecosystem in Edmonton without it being at their core (i.e. lawyers, corporate real estate), this membership is not intended for these organisations. Membership with the ERIN is not intended to be a business development opportunity, it is intended at its core to be an alignment or community support organisations to ultimately benefit the entrepreneurs and startups in Edmonton. 

ERIN Guiding Principles: 

Members of ERIN share the common interest of helping entrepreneurs and ventures (“Clients”) start and develop their businesses quickly and efficiently. 

Through this common interest and the anticipation that Clients will naturally seek help from multiple organisations as they pursue their ventures, we view our Clients and the attribution of their success as shared. 

ERIN organisations operate at different and sometimes overlapping stages of the startup journey. ERIN welcomes and encourages open dialogue and resource sharing with all members throughout their journey, based on our common interest in providing the best possible support.

Business Support for Members

Entrepreneur members can access one marketing-related support reimbursement of 5% of the total cost, not exceeding $20,000 annually. Use the link below to submit a request for reimbursement.

Other Benefits at a glance

Programs and Events Discount: While every effort is made to improve the accessibility of ERIN-funded events and programs by offering them free—should there be a registration fee for any event or program funded by ERIN, then members qualify for a 10% discount of that fee with a cap of 50 members for any one event.

Access to other Start-up Programs: ERIN members can access Denton’s Startup Program at a discounted rate. Dentons Startup Program provides legal services to Canadian entrepreneurs to scale their business. Other conditions apply, so be sure to read the booklet linked above.
