The City of Spruce Grove and the Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO) will co-host an in-person IP workshop for local entrepreneurs. The workshop aims to empower participants with the knowledge to protect their business innovations, learn about current IP funding opportunities at different stages of a business lifecycle and gain insights on how to properly apply for these opportunities.

In addition, entrepreneurs will learn the importance of protecting their IP as they scale their businesses and gain valuable insights from a variety of organizations and investors on how IP factors into their investment decisions. Ultimately, this workshop will enable participants to gain a good knowledge of the regional ecosystem.

DESCRIPTION EN FRANÇAIS

La municipalité de Spruce Grove et l’Office de la propriété intellectuelle du Canada (OPIC) coordonneront un atelier sur la PI, destiné aux entrepreneurs locaux. Cet atelier vise à fournir aux participants les connaissances permettant de bien protéger leur innovations, tout en se familiarisant avec les options de financement disponibles à différentes étapes de leur parcours entreprenarial.

De plus, les entrepreneurs vont comprendre l’importance de bien protéger leur PI afin d’assurer la croissance de leur entreprise, tout en récoltant des informations de grande valeur de la part d’organismes et d’investisseurs à savoir comment la PI est un réel facteur décisionnel. De façon générale, cet atelier permettra aux participants d’obtenir une bonne connaissance de leur écosystème régional d’innovation.
