for small requests up to $1,000
ABOUT THE STREAM
The Micro-Sponsorship Stream provides up to $1,000 in sponsorship support for small events and initiatives happening within Edmonton’s innovation ecosystem. It is designed for organizations and community groups that are hosting things like workshops, conferences, meetups, or industry events and need a small amount of funding to help bring them to life.

Micro Sponsorship Stream Applicant must:
Be an ERIN member in good standing
Host the initiative in full or in part within the Edmonton Metropolitan Region
Demonstrate ecosystem benefit beyond their own organization
Provide evidence of confirmed collaboration or sponsorship from at least one other organization, showing that ERIN is not the sole contributor to the initiative
Align with ERIN’s mission, values, and commitment to fostering connection, collaboration, and measurable impact within the ecosystem
Indicate how the ERIN funds will be used
Agree to and sign ERIN’s Community Initiatives Funding Agreement as a condition of funding
Note: If an application is declined, the same initiative may not be resubmitted within the same fiscal year; however, applicants may submit a different initiative for consideration within that same fiscal year.

Applicants must report on:
Total number of attendees
Activity - Number of workshops, panels, or sessions delivered, Topics covered and relevance to innovation/entrepreneurship
Number of stakeholders or partners engaged
Diversity indicator (e.g., percentage or estimated representation of underrepresented groups)
Branding or visibility opportunities realized for ERIN
At least one testimonial demonstrating personal or professional impact
One qualitative impact indicator such as:
Number of new connections made
Number of follow-up meetings generated
Participant satisfaction score/NPS/inclusion & belonging
Testimonials demonstrating ecosystem impact
Note: Reporting must be submitted within 30 days of the completion of the initiative using the Micro-Sponsorship Post-Initiative Report.

Materials/Tech
Reasonable material costs such as the design and production of hard copy collateral or learning materials for attendees
Software required for capturing of reporting data, implementing the initiative
Marketing and Promotion
Paid social media promotion where the value exceeds the cost
Food and Venue Costs
Venue fees
Food/Beverage expenses
Renting equipment (AV, projectors, microphones, stage)

Labour
Wages in relation to salary or contract work for any individuals whose time can be attributed to program activity
Overhead Costs
Professional Membership fees
Marketing and Promotion
Multi level marketing that is sales driven
Travel Expenses
Food and Venue Costs
Expenses related to alcohol and tobacco/cannabis with the exception in cases where there is a recognized cultural or religious custom that includes the presentation of these items as part of established traditions or practices.
