Culture Forward: An Evening of Mentorship, Storytelling & Creative Community

Culture Forward is an event bringing together Black and BIPOC newcomer and immigrant creatives, students, and some of Edmonton's most accomplished artists and arts leaders, for an afternoon of conversation, mentorship, and connection.

Many Black newcomer creatives arrive in Edmonton with real skill, published work, or creative business experience, yet face barriers to building a sustainable career here: limited networks, little access to mainstream platforms, and few spaces that reflect their voice and story. Culture Forward exists to change that.

Join us for an afternoon featuring:

• Conversations with established Edmonton creatives and arts leaders across visual art, theatre, music, and community building

• A student voice sharing how she balances being an artist and a student

• One on one mentorship opportunities with select speakers: finance, photography, event, nonprofit, etc

• Space to connect with other creatives, students, and community organizations building Edmonton's cultural life

• Creatives interested in different artistic expressions such as Photography, Writing, Publishing, Music, Videography, web design, and more

• Free makeup session opportunity for participants
