ERIN PRIORITIES
The ERIN is funded by Alberta Innovates’ Regional Innovation Network funding. We use this funding to support programs and services offered by Edmonton service providers such as Edmonton Unlimited to address the needs of the innovation community.
The following are ERIN’s core priorities:
-
Post Secondary Institutions
-
Community Initiatives
-
Governance
-
Membership
Each priority area has a dedicated Sub-Committee and a program operator. The program operator for each area, reports to the respective Sub-Committee for guidance and accountability to the larger innovation ecosystem as well as provide the ERIN Steering Committee with monthly reports.
DRIVING IMPACT
TURNING COLLABORATION INTO ACTION
POST SECONDARY INSTITUTIONS
COLLABORATION IN HIGHER EDUCATION
The Post-Secondary Institutions Sub-Committee aims to foster collaboration and leverage resources across our PSI network to support entrepreneurs and venture development. We proudly partner with seven of the Edmonton region’s post-secondary institutions:

GOVERNANCE
REINFORCING ERIN'S STRONG FOUNDATIONS
The purpose of the Governance Sub-Committee is to review language and make policies related to the management of ERIN. This includes ensuring that policies are compliant with ERIN’s statutory, regulatory, and ethical requirements, as well as any other relevant governance standards. The Governance Sub-Committee also reviews ERIN’s internal control systems and processes, making sure that they are effective, efficient, and in line with the organisation’s Strategic Plan.
MEMBERSHIP
MEANINGFULLY ENGAGING THE COMMUNITY
The Membership Sub-committee ensures the Edmonton Regional Innovation Network (ERIN) has a comprehensive plan for attracting, engaging, and retaining members. By fostering a vibrant community, we aim to strengthen the network and support innovation in the Edmonton region.

COMMUNITY INITIATIVES
DEVELOPING NEW BUSINESSES
Community Initiatives are entrepreneur-focused activities that reflect and support the goals and values of the innovation community by addressing key needs such as networking, visibility, and learning. These initiatives can include events, workshops, and other collaborative opportunities, ranging from single-day events to multi-day programs.

FUNDED PROGRAMS
FUELING ENTREPRENEURIAL GROWTH
With funding provided by Alberta Innovates, ERIN invests in the community through strategic program partnerships—empowering founders with mentorship, training, expert guidance, and more. These investments are guided by the ERIN Steering Committee to ensure alignment with regional priorities and maximum impact for entrepreneurs across the Edmonton Metro Region. See below for more information on specific programs.
